/ About the project

The Lotus LTCC design team was assembled to initially work on the roll out of the latest Lotus Eletre in-car HMI system. Following on from there we began to conceptualise and design a future vision for a range of EV Lotus vehicles from family SUV to High Performance cars. These highly conceptual projects considered fully autonomous driving, single driver experiences and many new tech advances such as haptic, smart surfaces and holographic projection.

/ CHALLENGES

  • Breaking down existing UX/UI paradigms within existing in-car design systems

  • Aligning with the new brand vision, and close collaboration with parts of the business.

  • Proposing a design direction that sits apart from any other HMI experience and feels like a high-end/luxury experience.

/ SOLUTION

Conceptualising a minimal design approach, taking inspiration from Lotus’s past and aligning that with the future brand vision principles.  We developed a UX framework within the car, frequently visiting the factory and testing prototypes on clay models for usability and accessibility. Crafting an experience that delivers the ultimate driver and passenger experience.

/ RESULT

An ongoing project  that aims to be exhibited in 2025.
